In this wood, contemporary architecture blends discreetly with the rich natural spaces. The 7 self-catering and eco-built cabins are living spaces to be shared with family, as a romantic couple or with friends. A sauna and a Norwegian bath are there to spice up your stay. Just 15 minutes from Vulcania and the trailheads of the Puy volcanic mountain range.

Initially, basalt wood is the story of an architect's love at first sight for a small piece of nature and heritage perched 900 meters away. Since 2014, le bois basalte has been offering cabin stays. Here, we cultivate the imagination of "the hut" as a place of retreat, as a fortress that protects against the forces of the outside world, like the precious cocoon where we find ourselves among ourselves.

Since the opening of Bois Basalte, we've been trying to make our business more responsible and sustainable.
Here are some of the things we do every day: use local currency, reduce plastic waste, return bottles and jars to producers for washing and reuse, watch vegetation grow rather than tame it...
We surround ourselves with good people and good organisations who are also concerned about social and environmental issues: enercoop, local organic producers where possible, social reintegration companies, etc.
