Museum of Paleontology
From the evolution of species to man and, to the present day. Menat is a unique site in Europe with its 56 million year old fossiliferous shales. Its museum houses many fossils of plants, animals, fish and the famous choristodere of Menat.
Internationally renowned, this paleontological site is of exceptional scientific and educational interest because it is the oldest Tertiary site in France and the second oldest in Europe. The paleontology museum houses many discoveries from the Menat site. From the exhibited specimens, it is possible to go back in time and understand that climate change is not a new phenomenon.
