Sustainable tourism
The commune of Briffons owns the Willy Mabrut pond. The pond is dammed on the river Clidane and has a diversion. In the downstream part of the diversion, a 3.60 m high rock fall prevented ecological continuity, i.e. the free movement of fish. This obligation to make the body of water fishable is linked to the classification of the river Clidane as list 2 under article L214-17 of the Environment Code.
The municipality therefore carried out the work to restore ecological continuity, which consisted of dividing the 3.60 m high waterfall into 20 falls of 20 cm each, using prefabricated concrete partitions.
